lyrics

(TD Jakes)
When I started studying the Bible
I didn’t start studying the Bible to preach
I didn’t start studying the Bible to get a message or to perfect a ministry
Nor did I start studying Scripture so that I might be able to argue theologically with those who are astute in Scripture
I started reading the Word of God because I was drowning
And I needed desperately to find a life line or a reason to keep living
I started reading the Word of God because I was tired of listening at the words of men
I was tired their counsel and their thoughts and their fodder
And the tunnels and the borrows as it were that I dug into the word of God to find healing for myself
Became cisterns for wells of living water that began to bless other hurting people all around this nation

(Verse)
Wake up, slow it down, let ‘em feel you
Look how God healed you, now display the real you
It’s a new you, so everybody that has known you
Might disown you unless they’ve grown too
Go head recalibrate, haters retaliate
Misdiagnosed as fake, I chose to elevate
They chose to sit and wait
For others to make they plate
I go hard for the stakes, let that marinate
I got in the kitchen
With the mixer, I’m a dog, I am not kidding
You complaining ‘bout your 9-5
Well, building your own thing might require
8a-10p, 7 days straight
No sick pay
That “if I don’t kill, I don’t eat” pay
Real street way
Real men give they love out to one bae, okay?
Look, all my rebuttals came from guys who are not married
That’s kinda scary
You tryna lead through tyaterry
I mean territory you’ve never been
Look, we got younger men looking up to us
We gotta show ‘em something
They don’t have a template
We ain’t have one either
Time to bring ether
To the dead excuses
Our past mistakes
Become our future muses
I hope you feel the music
I feel your pain
I remember being young and foolish, comma, clueless
Back when the only thing on my to do list
Was rap with Reuben
Look, 99 problems but you ain’t met this one!!
Tuning in like “Where did all of this come from?”
Tres made calls, waited in line
I’m the type to go get what He say is mine
Just wait for His timing
The full 39
The sum of consecutive primes
Tenacity has double Edge
Words said, feelings shed
Catch z’s in a spare bed
That show Power, I never knew about it
Was processing P&L’s with a shrewd accountant
But I did study 48 Laws
“If you wanna catch fish stir up the water” #39
Mr. Green! See, few gave ya boy applause
Half the room haters, another 10th fraud
15 get me, the rest ain’t get the bar
Or don’t read at all
So why would I expect that they would read between the line?
Especially the first time...
Line 39.
